Zachrey Doyle Stokes
1949 - 2021
Zachrey Stokes, Zach or "Cowboy", as he was known to countless friends, passed from this life and returned to be with his Lord on April 5, 2021.
Zach was born on New Year's Day, January 1, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas to his parents, Billy Lee and Lula Mae Stokes. From a very young age, Zach was the very embodiment of the word "Cowboy". Zach was a very hard working man and took great pride in everything he was tasked with. He was an employee of Bell Helicopter for thirty-six years. Zach was truly generous with his time with anything that had to do with being a cowboy, a loving husband or supporting his community.
Zach was a founding member of the National Association Riding Club and Sheriff Posse's and served on the Executive Board and Rules Committee for the club. He was an active Judge and Arena Director for the North Texas High School association, Pro Youth Rodeo Association and Texas Youth Bull Rider's Association. Zach's giving heart did not only benefit the rodeo crowd; Zach touched the lives of all that he met, volunteering his time to anyone or anything that needed that "Cowboy" touch. One of the many things that Zach loved to help with was the Bell Haunted House, which he participated yearly to benefit the Women's Shelter in Fort Worth.
Zach is survived by his very loving wife, Lyndamyrth "Lynda" Stokes; his sister, Birdie Stokes-Cooper; his children, Tracy Stokes, David Stokes and Shelly Henken; his step-children, Justin Wolfe and Kelly Perez; his grandchildren, Bailey Parham, Breanna Parham, Whitney Henken, Aubrey Stokes, Jacob Stokes, Ray Marquez, Brandon Wolfe, Kason Johnson, Lauri Wolfe and Kierstin Perez. Zach also leaves behind his precious great grandchildren, Tate Hammons, Willow Hammons and Pyper Hammons.
While Zach will be greatly missed by his surviving family, they wish to celebrate Zach's re-union with his parents and other family members and friends that have already left this world to join them in The Kingdom of Heaven with our Lord and Savior.
Zach's family invite everyone to come and celebrate his life, "A life well lived" on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Azle and Lake Worth Funeral Home at 2:00 PM
