Virginia Schofield Obituary

Virginia (Ginger) Mae Schofield, 77, passed away on May 8, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Azle and Lake Worth Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM with a Funeral Service following at 2:00 PM.  Interment will be held at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
Virginia was born on August 11, 1943 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Willie Mae and Joe Giddens Sr.  She enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and fishing.  Virginia was also known to have a green thumb, spending countless hours in her garden.  She married Bill Schofield and together they took pride in raising their three children, Bobby, Tina and Lisa.  Although she was a proud mother, Virginia's heart melted the day she became a grandmother.  She went to every sporting event of theirs that she could and spent much of her time sharing old stories with her children and grandchildren.  Ginger had a love for animals and enjoyed the company of her dogs and watching the birds (especially the red ones) and squirrels traveling around her yard.  She had a fierce, spitfire personality that was well known, particularly by her children and husband. In her younger days, Ginger loved to take her red Camaro to the drag races, but as time went on she graduated to cruising on her riding lawnmower that she kept washed and waxed.  She was a loving wife, beloved mother and grandmother, and loyal friend to many that can never be replaced.
Virginia is preceded in passing by her parents, and brothers, Joe Giddens Jr. and Matt Giddens.
She will be deeply and lovingly missed by her husband of fifty-two years, Billy Schofield; children, Bobby, Tina, and Lisa (Kent); grandchildren, Cody, Sydnee, Maci, Candie, Kolby, Cameron, and Loren; great-grandchildren, Wesleigh, Wylee, and Analeigh; sisters, Edith, Annie, Carol, and Rachel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family of Ginger Schofield would like to thank Holy Savior Hospice for their compassion and grace that they showed to their mother during these difficult times.
