Timothy Paul Harper
1942 - 2022
Tim Paul Harper, beloved husband, father, and friend, went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2022 surrounded by his closest family. He was born in Charlie, Texas on September 3, 1942 to Paul and Mary Harper. Tim was a very successful man and achieved many great accomplishments throughout his time. He served as Mayor of Azle from 1969 – 1971 and owned several businesses, Azle Automotive, Stardust Skating Rink, Ash Creek Auto, and Harper and Associates Real Estate. Tim actively served with the Masonic Lodge since 1984 and holds an “A” Certificate in Esoteric Work. He also received a 25 year service award in 2009.
Tim served in the following Lodges:
Order of the Eastern Star:
Scottish Rite:
Even with all the great achievements and awards Tim received, he still found time to have personal hobbies. For a brief while he took up interest as an Apiarian (Beekeeper) but found greater joy in other pastimes. He was an avid Hunter and Angler, and worked as a speed skating coach for many years. Tim strongly supported the American Red Cross North Texas Region. His love for Classic Car Restoration ran deep with his 1958 Chevy Impala, 1955 T-Bird, and 1967 Firebird. He then became a member of the Parker County Cruisers. Above all, spending time with his family brought him more joy than any award or hobby ever could. Tim’s giving heart and contagious smile will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
He has been reunited with his father, Paul Harper; mother, Mary Luna Harper; and brother, Phil Harper, in God’s Eternal Kingdom.
Tim will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Sandra Morris Harper of Weatherford; sisters, Loretta Mattix of Banes, Texas and Jane Slade of Bowie, Texas; son, Robbie Harper, endowed member of Azle Masonic Lodge, and wife, Amy, of Johnson City, Texas; son, Rodney Harper, endowed member of Azle Masonic Lodge, and wife, Shana of Lake Jackson, Texas; step-daughter, Angel Mendes and husband, Scott of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Chase Harper, Rusty Clower, Kaden Mendes, Jeanette Harper, Jorden Mendes, and Kolten Mendes; and a host of friends who became family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day, March 30, 2022, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM with entombment to follow at Azleland Mausoleum.
