Thresia Ann Thomas-Rumbaugh, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 27, 2023, in Springtown, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories. Born on August 5, 1944, in Waco, Texas, Thresia brought laughter and happiness to everyone she encountered throughout her remarkable life.
Thresia's passion for country music was evident to all who knew her. With her melodic voice and captivating stage presence, she graced the stages of numerous Opry venues in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, sharing her love for music with an adoring audience. Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn were her favorites, and their influence resonated in her performances, which brought smiles to countless faces.
Notably, Thresia possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with people effortlessly. Whether it was through her singing or her career in real estate, she had an uncanny talent for striking up conversations and forming deep connections with strangers. Many marveled at her genuine interest in others, as she had a unique gift for making people feel like lifelong friends within minutes of meeting them. Her favorite saying, "Everything always works out," reflected her optimistic outlook on life and her unwavering belief in the goodness of others. Thresia was raised in the Baptist Church, having been baptized as a child.
Thresia leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Clevenger, and her husband, David, of Azle, Texas; her daughter, Geneva Crow, of Weatherford, Texas; her daughter, Lisa Hardy, and her husband, Charlie, of Granbury, Texas; and her son, David McLain, of Azle, Texas. She is also survived by her three siblings: Bud Thomas of Waco, Texas; Ronald Thomas of Azle, Texas; and Darlene Brooker of Azle, Texas.
Thresia's impact on her family extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She is survived by her grandchildren: Casey Crow, Jacylann Nix, Kayla Crow, Clayton Clevenger, Colton Crow, and Kyndal Barker. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren: Makenzee Fair, Kaydence Nix, Caden Crow, Braxley Nix, and Kylie Crow.
Thresia is preceded in death by her parents, WC Bran Thomas and Nannie Thresia McAdams-Thomas, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms into Heaven.
Thresia Ann Thomas-Rumbaugh will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, and zest for life will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known her. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the incredible life she lived and hold her memory close to our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service to honor and remember Thresia Ann Rumbaugh will be held on July 5, 2023, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home on the grounds of Azleland Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their stories and memories of this remarkable woman.
