Shirley Ann Rodden
1941 - 2021
Shirley Rodden was born on January 19th 1941, in Clarksville TX to her mother, Eula Key-Robertson and her father, Allen Rice. She grew up in the company of her siblings.
Shirley was the matriarch of the family, she loved sewing, cooking and working in her yard, where she was very fond of her roses. She was a very social person and she loved to dance, sing and play pool. Shirley was an incredibly knowledgeable and intelligent lady. She was willing to share her knowledge with anyone that would listen. Family meant everything to her and she was always willing to help anyone in need, regardless of who was in need. She was always there to help family or friends. She was a caregiver to us all. In the summertime, she loved to make homemade ice-cream and homemade jelly and enjoyed sitting on her front porch, drinking her sweet tea. She was known as Mamaw to everyone who passed through her doors and loved everyone as if they were her own.
Shirley was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Roy Rodden; her son, David Rodden; her daughter Rosa Smith; her great grandson, Anthony Torres; along with her five siblings and her longtime friend, Gary Matlock. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Becky and her husband, Bill Brooks; her son, Louis Rodden; her daughter, Chrissy Horton; her son, Tony Rodden; and a bonus daughter, Lisa Rodden; her sisters, Ellen and Judy; and her brothers, Wayne and Doug. Shirley leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
While the family is greatly saddened by their loss, they hope that everyone that knew and loved Shirley will come and help celebrate this terrific lady's life. A life very well lived!
