In Loving Memory of Shirley Beatrice Porter, known affectionately as Shirley, Mom, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, at the age of 68 in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on September 26, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, she led a life filled with love, adventures, dedication, and timeless values. Shirley was a woman of remarkable character, resilience, generosity, joy, happiness, and unwavering faith. Her beautiful spirit and kind heart endeared her to all who had the privilege of crossing her path. Her strength, resourcefulness, and wit were a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends. Throughout her life, Shirley embraced the joy of creating beadwork, playing guitar and dancing. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in every project she undertook. Professionally, Shirley found fulfillment as a budget analyst for TCOM. Her passion for family and being a mother and grandmother was always very prominent and will live on in her children. Shirley's faith provided her with an unwavering foundation and solace during both joyous and challenging times. She found spiritual nourishment and peace in her relationship with God. Shirley worshipped with reverence and gratitude.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Luther E.Porter; mother, Jimmy N. Mcdonald; brother, Luther Porter Jr.; and her sister, Tammy Coughlin.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Sean and Taryn Strange; her sisters, Rhonda Heard, Angela Barlow and Tina Shipp; grandchildren, Averie, Jacobie, Macie, and Desmond Strange; and a host of extended family and friends.
May her soul find eternal rest and happiness, and may her memory always be a blessing to us all.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
