Rose Marie (Sneddon) Hyden

Rose Marie Hyden

1943-2021

Rose Marie Sneddon a.k.a. little Rosie, Nanny & Aunt Snookie, was born in Denver Colorado on September 5, 1943 to Ruth Mae and William Harold Sneddon.  She she was the oldest of five children, Billy Earl, Judy, Cathy and one surviving brother, Jimmy Dean Sneddon, of Denver , CO.
Rose was married to Bryce Larry Graham and had five children, Bryce Larry, Debbie Marie, William Harold,  Corina Larie, and LaLonnie Larie,  who passed away December 17, 2011.
Rose was divorced and living in California when she met the love of her life, James Coy Hyden, affectionately called Papa Tex.  He packed her up and moved to Texas in 1978 and they were married on October 9 of 1980 in Fort Worth, Texas. Of course she didn’t know his name until the day she married him; she thought his name was Tex but she found out that his name was James Coy Hyden.  He  was her night in shining armor, her true love, her soulmate and her best friend.  For the next 40 years they lived together on Fossil drive.
Rose  is retired from Kmart where she was the deli manager.  She really enjoy working there and meeting new people .  I think we all miss those nachos!
After retiring, she and her husband began selling at flea markets and trade days which allowed them to travel to other states and other places. They would just pack up the trailer and RV and take off for a month or so at a time. The two together were inseparable.
Rose loved to be behind the wheel of a car; she would take trips to Denver to pick up granny or to take granny home. She also loved reading, and always had a book in hand when she wasn't crocheting. Her greatest wish was to have a jukebox, one year on her birthday her family bought her a jukebox and had it delivered while she was gone. They had it all set up and when she pulled up, which they always use the back door to come into the den, they put on Coal Miners Daughter as loud as a jukebox would go.  When Rose walked in, she dropped to the floor crying and her words were “that’s what I always wanted.“ After receiving such a special gift, she would spend many hours typing labels and collecting 45 records for her jukebox. Buying  gifts for Rose became easy for everyone, a simple giftcard to the record store allowed her to continue her passion, searching for older 45 to add to her jukebox collection. Papa Tex loved to give her a hard time and throw a few songs on there that she really didn’t like One Eyed Flying Purple People Eater.  He so loved to tease her! 
Mom leaves behind five grandchildren David Sconce, Sabrina Bowman, Sean Cunningham, Michelle Graham, and Cody Graham.
Everyone affectionately called her Nanny, not only her grandchildren, but everyone that knew her. She was a very special grandmother who took the time on holidays to make special baskets for each person. Rose actually loved to wrap Christmas presents! She found great joy in never missing a birthday, graduation, or special event. Rose was always there for anyone in need.  She was our rock. Although Rose didn’t have many grandchildren, she did end up with 8 great grandchildren. 

She had three from her grandson, David:  Alexis Marie, Aiden Thomas and Deztini Rose, Sabrina gave her two little girls: Kamora Faith & Kalani Paige, Sean gave her: Lucy Rose, James Allen & another on the way! Cody gave her one great granddaughter, Olivia Rose. Two of her Great-granddaughters were actually born on Valentine’s Day! Aunt Snookie leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews grand & great grand. 
 

"Mom lived a very simple life. She did not require much for herself or asked much for herself. She was very giving, sometimes to her own detriment. She loved their home on Fossil Drive and was usually a host to a lot of people in Riverside that didn’t have a place to stay. My parents always opened their home to these people and made sure that they had someplace to stay and something to eat.  Later, while mom and dad needed help a lot of these ladies stepped in and helped take care of them and for that I am very grateful. It’s hard to say goodbye to somebody so very very special. You’ve always been our little Rose and I will love you for eternity and beyond.   [❤️] Mama I know that you are in the arms of all the ones that left before you and I’m sure they were all climbing over Tex’s shoulders to be able to get to you when you got to heaven.  God bless you mama and know that I will love you forever. Wait for us, we will be there soon.
