In Loving Memory of Ronnie Lee Smith

1959 - 2023

Ronnie Lee Smith, born on December 5, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2023, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Vera and Floyd Smith.

On July 5, 1996, Ronnie married the love of his life, Judy Monroe, and together they embarked on a remarkable journey filled with love and companionship that spanned over many wonderful years.

Ronnie's career was a testament to his dedication and hard work. He began his professional life in construction, where he honed his skills in framing houses and constructing high lines. However, his relentless pursuit of knowledge and passion for machinery led him to become a self-taught mechanic, a profession he excelled in and cherished.

Beyond his work, Ronnie had a zest for life that was reflected in his hobbies. He had a fondness for treasure hunting, frequenting flea markets, and exploring yard sales, always on the lookout for a good bargain. His hands were always busy, whether he was tinkering with small engines or sharing his mechanical expertise with friends and family.

One of Ronnie's greatest joys in life was fishing. He found solace and serenity in the tranquil moments spent by the water, casting his line and patiently waiting for the next big catch. These moments brought him not only the thrill of the sport but also a profound connection to nature.

Ronnie Lee Smith will be remembered for his unwavering determination, his passion for all things mechanical, and his love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Judy, his family, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ronnie has been reunited with his wife, Judy; parents, Vera Burdine and Floyd Smith; grandparents, Viola and Milton Smith and Eula and Jack Jackson; and brothers-in-law, Harvey Bouldin and Steve Heath, in God's Eternal Kingdom.

He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his five stepchildren, Melody Farley, Kathy Wise, Louis Zarantonello, Keith Zarantonello, and Tony Zarantonello; twin sister, Connie Tackett and husband, Steve; sisters, Gayla Heath and Mildred Bouldin; brothers, Larry Smith and wife, Kim, and James Smith; nine grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
