Robert Samuel Wilson of Azle, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
Robert was born on July 23, 1941 to Robert Glen and Ruby Delores (Nelson) Wilson in Vancleave, MS, where he grew up and developed a lifetime love for hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. After completing trade school, Robert spent many years working for Pascagoula Sheet Metal before moving to Azle in 1987. He worked for several years at Lockheed Martin prior to starting a successful business Wilson’s Gutter Service in 1994, which he maintained until his recent health issues prevented it. One of Robert’s greatest joys in life was traveling cross country on his motorcycle with his son and friends. Robert was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeside where he accepted Christ as his savior. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clint Wilson of Vancleave. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Elna, sons Travis Wilson (Leah) of Azle, Wayne Wilson (Lori) of Vancleave, Robert Hatten, Jr. of Azle, and daughters Debbie Diffie (John) of Alvord, Cathy Edwards (Tom) of Fort Worth, and Carol Hatten (David Holmes) of Azle, brother Richard Wilson of Lindale, and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
