Robert Russell “Rusty” Koury passed away on October 27, 2022, at the age of 59 in Azle, Texas. He was born to John Daniel and Jane Marie Koury in Flagstaff, Arizona, on July 28, 1963. Robert graduated from Holbrook High School, Holbrook, Arizona in 1982, moved to Texas in 1994 and later settled in Azle, Texas in 2014. His memorial will be held on November 19, 2022, at 11am at Hilltop Assembly of GOD located at 1670 E Highway 114 in Boyd, Texas, 76023.
In his memory in lieu of flowers, donations can be made supporting the Epilepsy Foundation and Catholic Charities.
Robert was known for his compassionate nature and was well loved by the community. He spent many hours supporting church organizations and had many hobbies. Among those were woodworking, sports, and scouting. He enjoyed volunteering with many local organizations such as Royal Rangers and set building with local theater organizations. Robert was always willing to help those in need. He found a great purpose sharing in success, joys, and challenges with his circle of friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, John Daniel Koury. He is survived by his mother, Jane (Koury) Matello; his sister, Kerri Koury, both in Carrollton, Texas. He is also survived by his stepmother, Mary Koury; his half-brothers, Stephen Koury in Florida, Kirk Koury in Arizona, Daniel Koury in Nevada, and Jeffery Koury in Arizona; Three nieces, two nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Robert will be lovingly missed by all his family, friends, and neighbors.
