River Olson Obituary

River Dean Olson

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”                           Matthew 11:28

River left behind his earthly body to join his Heavenly Father on Friday night October 2 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. River fought hard for many days prior to stay with his loving family and friends, a fight he would finally surrender to.

Cousins: Taylor and Sydnee Gamez, Tatiana, Makayla and CJ Zoltowsli, and Tenley Tidwell; god parents, Brett & Stephanie Harley;  as well as many more family and friends.

Proceeded in death by his great grandparents: John and Huguette Allen and Albert Dean and Elizabeth L. (Whim) Guston and his grandfather Richard Darwin Olson.

River had an adventurer’s heart from the beginning. He never walked, he stood up and ran. Anyone that knew him back then would be entertained by his animated expressions and mischievous pranks. Even as a little guy, River loved to make people laugh and smile. This theme would carry out through his whole life.  River was always up for whatever new experience that lay ahead for him, as long as it was outside. He was utterly fearless. Even as a child, you could always see the kindness and love in his sweet eyes. River loved his time with his friends, this included his little sister. He had a true love and appreciation for music, it seemed to speak to his soul. He considered family to be at the top of his priority list and would do anything to make sure they knew he loved them. With a smile that could stop a train, the sky was the limit for this brave adventurer. River had such a big heart that he chose himself to be an organ donor, a decision that would end up saving several lives. River never stopped amazing his family with his generosity and love, up until the minute he departed from them, way too soon.
