Randy Dines Obituary

Randy Edward Dines

1957 - 2023

Randy Edward Dines went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2023.  He was born on December 18, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jack Edward Dines and Laura La-Verne Jolly.

Randy joined the United States Marine Corp.  Training commenced on May 7, 1975 and he graduated on July 23, 1975 in San Diego, California.  Randy served with the Third Battalion, Platoon 3046 for four years.  He had a passion for “anything on wheels.” If you could ride it or drive it, it caught his attention.  Randy loved his 1949 Harley Davidson Panhead but could tell you about anything to do with any Harley.  He made his living as a truck and fire engine mechanic, most recently working on specialty transmissions prior to his retirement.  Some of his best times were spent traveling across Texas repairing fire engines with his cat, Trish.  She was always the first to jump out and greet everyone in the fire station, and she knew every time Randy said “load up” to get back in to head to their next job.

Randy lost his first wife, Donna Gail Acree, in 2012 after a long battle with cancer.  In 2014, he met Pam, and right away there was an instant connection. Not only did they share many mutual interests, but both could relate to each other’s feelings after losing a spouse to cancer.  Randy and Pam wed on October 10, 2019 at a chapel on the top of a hill that they had to ride ATVs to get to.

Randy enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, and riding ATVs on some of the most challenging trails.  He was always listening to heavy metal music and could even fall asleep to it! He loved to travel and go on cruises, but he also enjoyed his quiet time watching Sci-Fi movies and reading books.   His giving heart and contagious laugh will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

He has been reunited with his father, Jack Edward Dines; grandparents, Arthur E. and Virginia Dines and Thomas P. and Juanita Washington Jolly; and his aunt, Lana Jolly Roberts.

Randy will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Pam Richard; mother, Laura Jolly Bennett; sisters, Teri Bennett and Virginia Miller; niece, Jamie Cannon; nephews, Jeremy Dennis, Jason Dennis, and Alex Calderon; father-in-law, John Martin; mother-in-law, Juanita Greene; sister-in-laws, Karen Harris and Debra Degan; brother-in-law, David Miller; stepchildren, Jennifer Hill, Jerry Jasso, Michael Jasso, Christina Jasso and Melody Jasso; seven step grandchildren; cats, Lucy and Ricki; numerous “Arkansas Cousins;” and more friends than can be named.

A visitation will be held on April 4, 2023, starting at 1:00 PM at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home chapel. A funeral service will also be held on April 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home chapel with internment to follow at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park.
