Ramon Ortiz Sr., de 84 años, fue llamado al cielo el 31 de mayo de 2020 en su residencia rodeado de numerosos familiares y amigos. Era el esposo de María Trujillo de Ortiz. Compartieron 63 hermosos años juntos. Nacido en Río Bravo, Coahuila, Mx., Ramón era hijo de Juan y Petra Ortiz. Asistió a la escuela en México cuando era niño y trabajó como ganadero para Pete Thurman en Santo, Texas, durante muchos años y más tarde para Olympian Ranch (Robert y Joan Richards). Ramón será recordado por ser un padre, esposo, abuelo, y bisabuelo amoroso y afectuoso, también como un amigo sincero. La comunidad de Santo, Texas, lo conocía como un hombre respetuoso de la ley y confiable. Era conocido por enseñar disciplina, respeto y la importancia de una buena ética de trabajo para sus hijos. Ortiz, Mauricio Rico, Erika Torres y su esposo Pepe Torres, Magaly Arroyo y su esposo, José Arroyo, Diana Villanueva y su esposo, Juan Villanueva, Veronica Rodriguez y su esposo, Heriberto Rodriguez, Marcos Barron, Joseph Barron, Petra Barron, Jose A Ortiz Jr. y esposa, Kelsey Robinson, Alexis Duran y esposo, Raul Duran, Monserrat Ortiz, Emily Lopez y esposo, Pedro Lopez, Faith Ruiz, Hope Ruiz, Angel Ortiz, Homero Ortiz, Oscar Ortiz, Max Ortiz , Ray Ortiz, Roy Ortiz, Galilea Pérez, Laura Pérez, Daisy Ortiz y 21 bisnietos.
A Ramón le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Juan Ortiz y Petra Reyna de Ortiz, su hermano Ramiro Ortiz y su hermana Esperanza Ortiz de Treviño.
Ramon Ortiz Sr., 84, was called to heaven on May 31, 2020 in his residence surrounded by numerous family members and friends. He was the husband of Maria Ortiz. They shared 63 beautiful years together. Born in Rio Bravo, Coahuila, Mx., Ramon was the son of Juan and Petra Ortiz. He attended school in Mexico as a young child and worked as a ranch hand for Pete Thurman in Santo, Texas for many years and later for Olympian Ranch (Bob and Joan Richards).
Ramon will be remembered for being a loving and caring father, husband, grandpa, great grandpa, and as an honest and truthful friend. The community of Santo, Texas knew him as a law-abiding, dependable, and trustworthy man. He was known for teaching discipline, respect, and the importance of good work ethic to his children. His “word” was more valuable than a hand shake. He was well respected by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; his children,Guadalupe Ortiz and husband, Ricardo Rico, Ramon Jr. and wife, Lourdes Ortiz, Rogelio Ortiz, Petra Ortiz, Jose Alfredo Ortiz Sr., Yolanda Rodriguez and husband, Fidel Rodriguez, Oscar Ortiz and wife, Sarai Torres; siblings Maria Romero, Evangelina Lopez and husband, Rito Lopez, Juan Ortiz, Jesus Ortiz and wife, Paty Ortiz; his grandchildren Adrian Gonzales, Maria G. Ortiz, Mauricio Rico, Erika Torres and husband Pepe Torres, Magaly Arroyo and husband, Jose Arroyo, Diana Villanueva and husband, Juan Villanueva, Veronica Rodriguez and husband, Heriberto Rodriguez, Marcos Barron, Joseph Barron, Petra Barron, Jose A Ortiz Jr. and wife, Kelsey Robinson, Alexis Duran and husband, Raul Duran, Monserrat Ortiz, Emily Lopez and husband, Pedro Lopez, Faith Ruiz, Hope Ruiz, Angel Ortiz, Homer Ortiz, Oscar Ortiz, Max Ortiz, Ray Ortiz, Roy Ortiz, Galilea Perez, Laura Perez, Daisy Ortiz and 21 great grandchildren.
Ramon was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Petra Ortiz, brother Ramiro Ortiz, and sister Ezperanza Trevino.
