Michael Gene Patterson, a talented electrician and beloved family man, passed away on July 5, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on March 2, 1945, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, to Ervin A. Patterson and Pauline Shreve-Patterson. Mike's exceptional skills in the electrical industry were evident from a young age, as he worked alongside his father since childhood.
In his early years, Mike was baptized in the Baptist church, laying the foundation for his deep faith and values. In April 1963, he crossed paths with Frances Lucille (Lucy) Etheridge, and their connection grew rapidly. They exchanged vows on June 9, 1963, in Earth, Texas, and embarked on a journey filled with love, companionship, and shared dreams. Together, they resided in Dimmitt, Texas, for two decades before settling in Azle, Texas, in 1983.
Mike was a skilled craftsman and possessed an affinity for arts and crafts. He found joy in creating beautiful and functional items, showcasing his creativity and dedication. Additionally, he had a deep passion for the great outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, embracing the serenity and adventure that nature provided.
Throughout his life, Mike took great pride in his work as an electrician. His exceptional skills and commitment to his craft led him to establish several successful businesses. He owned and operated an appliance and electrical store, a furniture store, a welding and electrical shop, and even ventured into the catering and sandwich shop industry. Furthermore, he co-owned M & M Construction alongside his son, Mike, on Eagle Mountain Lake. Mike's entrepreneurial spirit was a testament to his determination and ambition.
Above all, Mike cherished his family and held them close to his heart. He adored his wife, Lucy Patterson, and was a loving father to his sons, Mike R. Patterson and Mark Patterson. His greatest joy came from spending time with his four grandchildren: R.J., Misty, Rebecca, and Michael. As the family expanded, Mike's love overflowed to embrace his six great-grandchildren: Marriane, Paleigh, Caysin, Mason, Kinsley, and Caylon.
On July 5, 2023, Michael Gene Patterson passed away, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, and devotion to his loved ones. While he was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Monty Patterson, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
