Michael Lynn Jones

Michael Lynn Jones passed away on August 19, 2020.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM.

Michael Lynn Jones was born March 15th, 1951 to Bill and Barbara Jones in San Antonio. Mike grew up in the D/FW Metroplex, mainly in Hurst, and Bedford, Texas. Mike graduated from LD Bell High School in 1969. He attended Tarrant County College and became a medical lab technician. He later attended TCU and got his BS in Nursing. He worked in surgery, critical care, emergency services, and worked as a director of nursing at a nursing home.

During Mike’s days working as a medical lab technician, he was hired by the former Debbie Mason to work at the hospital lab at the Azle Hospital then known as EMASH. Lightning struck when Mike and Debbie met in March of 1980. They were married three months later in June.

Mike and Debbie had a son in February of 1982. Mike had picked out the name before he met Debbie. The son was named Geoffrey Michael Mason Jones.  After Geoffrey’s birth, Mike entered nursing school and completed his BSN when Debbie was pregnant with their second child Emily Caitlin Jones.

Mike worked as a nurse for a number of years but health problems began to affect him and he had to retire early.

Mike enjoyed his long time love of music and collecting guitars, amps, and various musical devices. He also helped Debbie with her hobby of raising and showing AKC collies.

Mike was a soft hearted man that loved his family. He was a God fearing Christian and a patriot. He saved lives as a nurse and touched many people with his kindness. He had a sarcastic sense of humor that not everyone understood.

Mike got the short end of the stick by being plagued with several serious medical problems. He was incredibly strong to fight off illness for many years. Finally God called him home where he is happy and whole again. The loved ones he left behind are the ones suffering now from the loss of a dear person, called Michael Jones.

Mike passed away holding Debbie’s hand on August 19, 2020. Mike leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Debbie Jones, their children Geoffrey Jones, Caitlin White, his mother, Barbara Jones, his sister, Donna Taylor, his daughters from a previous marriage, Shannon Lucas, Jennifer Jones, and April Cowan. Mike also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, in-laws, and a few cousins. He was loved by many.
