In Loving Memory of Michael Lynn Acklin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Lynn Acklin, affectionately known as Mike, on June 23, 2023. Born to James Acklin Jr. and Vera Katherine Acklin in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 23, 1948, Mike lived a life filled with adventure, love, and cherished moments.
Mike's journey began with a deep sense of patriotism and a desire to serve his country. After graduating high school, he proudly joined the United States Navy, dedicating over 20 years of his life to honorable service. Through his naval career, Mike had the opportunity to travel to various countries, creating lasting memories and stories that he shared eagerly upon his return home.
Beyond his military service, Mike possessed a passion for continuous learning and exploring new hobbies. He delighted in expanding his knowledge and skills, always seeking new experiences to enrich his life. Mike's zest for life was contagious.
While Mike had a thirst for exploration, his true joy was found in the company of his beloved family and friends. He treasured the moments spent with his loved ones, creating lasting bonds through shared laughter, heartfelt conversations, and creating lasting memories. His genuine warmth and compassionate nature endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Mike, we remember him as a loving father, a devoted friend, and a true adventurer at heart. His spirit of resilience, curiosity, and love will forever remain etched in our hearts and minds. Though he may no longer be with us in the physical realm, his legacy will live on through the stories he shared and the impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a guiding light for us all.
Rest in peace, dear Mike. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
He has been reunited with his wife, Norma Jean Acklin; son, Scot Edward Acklin; and his parents, in God's Eternal Kingdom.
Michael will be deeply and lovingly missed by his sister, Susan Edwards; daughters, Jeanna Crouch and Shelly Acklin; grandchildren, Nicole, Morgan, Shane, and Michael; great-granddaughters, Savannah and Amelia; and a host of friends.
A Service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery beginning at 1:00 PM where military honors will be rendered.
