1980 - 2021
Mark Gutierrez, beloved father, brother, son, fiancé, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home from at 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be rendered at 11:00 AM during visitation.
Mark was born on February 7, 1980 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois to Enrique and Eileen Gutierrez and was the oldest of four siblings. He graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology in 2000 and began working as a locomotive electrician for Union Pacific Railroad. Mark enjoyed being outdoors whether he was spending a day on the water fishing and kayaking or working on his 70 Chevy Camaro, 70 Chevy C10, or 83 Chevy C10. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, but watching his boys play sports brought him greater joy. Mark played bass for Life Without and Veritae and was given the opportunity to open for Skid Row and Vince Neil. He spent countless hours wood and iron working and built many pieces, including furniture, to sell. Mark’s heart of gold never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a friend or stranger in need. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and all the memories they shared.
Mark was preceded in passing by his grandfathers, Joseph Schaul and Santiago Gutierrez, and his grandmother, Helen Schaul.
He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his son, Drake Gutierrez; parents, Eileen and Rick Gutierrez; fiancé, Callie Crawford and her son, Easton; brother, Jeff Gutierrez and husband, Jeff Brown; sisters, Denise Gutierrez and fiancé, Bill Colberg, and Jennie Gutierrez; grandmother, Natividad Gutierrez; uncles and families, Eddie Guttierrez, Santiago Gutierrez Jr., Danny Schaul, Joe Schaul, and Jim Schaul; aunts and families, Elsa Beaschamp, Yolanda Tamayo, Jessie Kress, Kathy Duncan, and Marianne Nelson; and countless band mates, friends, and coworkers.
