Lucile Sager Obituary

Lucile Elaine Sager

1924-2021

Lucile or as family and friends knew her "Elaine" was born on October 17, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Elaine was one of four children in the Larison household.  Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Larison  Elaine passed on June 15, 2021 at her home at Cedar Crest Senior Living in Lewisville, Texas.

Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and relished spending time with her family.  Family meant everything to her.  Elaine was a highly intelligent lady and loved using her mind, especially playing the card game, Bridge.

Elaine is survived by her sister, Betty; her son, Scott; her five grandchildren, Angela, Scott, Bob, Ginny and Mallory; as well as, her six great-grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Sager; her sister, Ailene and her brother, Edward.

Elaine, as well as, her family were very proud of her long life span on this earth and they wished to share a few monumental events that occurred in the year of Elaine's birth.

  • In 1924, Marlon Brando, Doris Day, Lauren Bacall, Lee Marvin, Truman Capote, Jimmy Carter and H.W. Bush were also born.  They were in pretty good company with Elaine.
  • In 1924, the first Macy's Day parade was held.
  • The first successful around-the-world flight began in the United States in April 1924, returning to its starting point in September.  The trip took 175 days.
  • 1924 was the year that Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian Nationalist movement against British rule, was released from imprisonment.
  • The book, Passage to India was published, as well as, Agatha Christies, The Man In The Brown Suit.
  • The very first crossword puzzle was published by Simon and Schuster.
  • Peter Pan and the Thief of Bagdad were popular movies.
  • Ronald Reagan entered Dixon's Northside High School.
  • Vladiir Lennin died.
  • John Dillinger marries Berlyn Ethel Hovious.
  • Congress enacted the Indian Citizenship Act.  An act granting Native American's born in the US, the right to vote.
  • The Dominican Republic achieves independence from Spain.

All of these things happened in the year Elaine was brought into this world.  Now the question begs... what wonderful and glorious things is she now seeing in her new life in The Kingdom of Heaven.
