Lisa Marie Johnson, age 53, passed away on March 28, 2022 after a 6-year battle with cancer in her home surrounded by her family in accordance with her wishes. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM with a Celebration of Life to follow at 10:00 AM.   Attire will be business casual.

Lisa Marie Berens was born April 9, 1968 in the city of Irving, TX to David Berens and Nancy Burr. Lisa, after dropping out in the 11th grade, returned to earn her GED as an adult prior to receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

Lisa was a strong, loving mother who never met an obstacle she couldn’t overcome. She was devoted to her family, always vowing to fight with all her heart to love and cherish them, and never backing down from her illness regardless of how hopeless it seemed. She was steadfast in her faith to God, trusting his will and loving Him until the end. Lisa was often found at bible study on Sundays with her good friends, Pat and Cathy, better learning how to serve the Lord. She was a God-fearing, patriotic woman who loved her country, and valued her freedoms.

Lisa enjoyed fishing with her sister, Diane, helping Kayli with her interests, and relaxing in her home with her family and friends. The world is better for having had her in it and she will be dearly missed.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Hollis Johnson Jr.; sister, Diane Williamson; daughter, Kayli Johnson, and her sons, Matthew and Cody Duncan.
