Linda Pressley Obituary

Linda Gale Pressley

1948 – 2020

Linda Gale Pressley went to be with the Lord on January 30th, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas. Linda was born on February 9th, 1948 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to her parents, James Henry Pressley and Pearl Sweat.

At the age of four Linda was hit by a car and was under critical conditions for several months, the Doctor said she would never walk or talk, but the Lord stepped in and she lived for 72 years, walking and talking fine even with her right side paralyzed partially.

Linda suffered a very rough marriage and divorced then moved to Texas. Linda was surrounded by family and settled in Fort Worth for the rest of her life. After several bad relationships Linda decided to stay on her own.

Linda was very happy and content on her own seldom asked anyone for anything, she paid for and owned all her possessions and was proud of the fact she did it alone.

Linda’s most loved person was her great nephew, James David Steele (Bubba), Linda spent everyday waiting for Bubbas school bus to come in and walked him home, she was there hot or cold, rain or snow, for seven years until she got too sick from cancer.

Linda was a person who never met a stranger, she talked to everyone and never had bad things to say about anyone. Linda would go out her way to help anyone and wanted mainly to be useful. She would put her family before herself. Linda would go without so, you would not have to.

Linda left this world debt free, owing no one and all owing her. She was loved and is going to be missed. I will think of her everyday and night of my life, she was the greatest person I ever known.

Linda is survived by the person she loved the most, James David Steele; her best and closest friend, partner, sidekick, Jack Edward Steele and sister, Rachel Steele; her sister, Joyce Delp and boyfriend, Tom Walton, Joyce's kids, Mark, Randy, Darell. Linda also leaves behind her nephew, Jack Steele Jr. “JR” his wife, Crystal Steele and kids, Kendall Steele and Hunter Price; her niece, Tonya Box and her kid; nephew, Cody, Justin, Daniel and Kaleigh Box; nephew, Jacob Jones, her friends, Bill Staats, Bob and Robert Hardman, Blair Webb, and many other loving family members and dear friends.
