Lillie Jo Bone 1923-2021
Lillie Jo Bone, age of 97, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.
As a young woman, she worked for Pan American Airways in Brownsville, Texas, as a riveter, converting C-47 military transport planes to passenger planes during WWII. She also attended the Assembly of God Central Bible College in Springfield, MO.
Lillie was a homemaker and exemplified the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31: 10-31, working willingly with her heart and hands as a pastor’s wife.
Surviving is her husband of 75 years, Willard Hazen Bone, Jr. her sons, Douglas Neal (wife, Sherry) of Ft. Worth and Daniel Kim (wife, Marlene) of Azle, and special friend Judy ( husband, Johnny) Clayton of Paducah KY. Additionally, she is survived by five grandchildren, Stephen, Sean, Matthew, Stephanie and Tiffany; six great grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Haley, Madison, Mason, and Brock; one great- great granddaughter, Lily Hazel; and one brother, Kenneth Hastings of Waggoner, Oklahoma.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Bert Earl Hastings, and Maude Begley Hastings; one brother, Aubria Hastings; and one sister, Muriel Babbitt.
Funeral services for Lillie Jo Bone will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Azleland Chapel, 850 N. Cardinal Road, Azle, Texas. Visitation is Monday, July 12,2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Rev Billy Brown will officiate the service.
