Lidiya Leontyeva Obituary

Lidiya Leontyeva

1949 - 2022

Lidiya Leontyeva was born in Ukraine on February 6, 1949.  She was the daughter of farmers, Maria and Peter (both deceased).  She was a middle child and her elder brother, Pavel (deceased), and her younger sister, Nadya, were her siblings.  She grew up in Southern Ukraine, working hard for a family farm and dreaming to move to a city.  At the age of 16 she finally had the opportunity to move to Kherson, Ukraine, and she never looked back.  She loved that city with all of her heart.  This is where she met the love of her life, her now deceased husband - Nikolay and gave birth to her only child - Liliya.  She never fathomed to leave her beloved city until the Russian-Ukraine War broke out in February of 2022, and she left at age 73 to be with her daughter's family in Dallas, TX, taking her first plane ride in the strenuous 4 weeklong journey.  She loved her country and her hometown of Kherson greatly and missed it every moment.  Having failing health for many years, she passed peacefully on August 25, 2022 with her beloved daughter, Liliya, and son-in-law, Jonathan, by her bedside.  She also left behind her grandson, Nicholas, whom she loved more than life itself.  She will be dearly missed and admired for her strength of character, her unconditional love, and her appreciation of the beauty of life.  We miss you and love you Babushka, with all our heart.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park beginning at 10:00 AM.
