Lawrence Edward Admire, affectionately known as Larry, born on January 15, 1937, in Lubbock, Texas, to proud parents Oscar Admire and Zula Blalock, peacefully entered eternal rest on September 25, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.
Larry’s life was one characterized by selfless service and unwavering commitment. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps for two dedicated years, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment.
A devoted father of four, Larry’s love knew no bounds. He found immense joy in coaching his children in Little League baseball and Pee Wee football, instilling in them not only a love for sports but also the values of teamwork and determination. His active and protective nature earned him the affectionate nickname, "Super Dad," a title he wore with pride.
Throughout his life, Larry embraced the camaraderie of brotherhood as a member of Local 146 for an impressive 50 years. His dedication to his trade was a testament to his hard work and loyalty.
Larry was a hands-on individual who relished tinkering in his home and yard. His passion for home improvement projects brought both beauty and functionality to his surroundings, a reflection of his meticulous and caring nature.
A true-blue Dallas Cowboys fan, Larry’s Sundays were dedicated to cheering on his beloved team, and he shared this passion with friends and family. In his later years, he found solace in watching old Westerns, where the rugged landscapes and tales of honor resonated deeply with him.
Lawrence Edward Admire leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and dedication. He will be remembered as a devoted father and husband, a dedicated Marine, a skilled tradesman, and a passionate sports enthusiast. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
He has been reunited with his parents; children, Debra Admire, Daniel Admire, and Larry Admire; and step-son, Billy Dobbs Jr., in God’s Eternal Kingdom.
Larry will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Jarvis Admire; son, Phillip Admire and wife, Terrie; step-daughters, Cynthia Thrasher and Sherry Starkey and husband, Fred; sister, Donna Sims; brother, Leslie Arnold; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Ash Creek Cemetery.
