Katie Lee Booth, 73 years old, of Springtown, Texas left this life Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Katie was born March 11, 1947 in Lamar County, Texas to Hayden Troy Booth and Maudie Marie Henderson. Katie leaves behind her 3 sisters, Bonnie Booth, Carolyn Walker and Kerensa Crisp.
Katie married Mack Tucker at the age of 17. Katie and Mack married young and started their family right away. Their first child, Tammy, was born in January of 1965 and 3 years later they had Wanda. Katie was Baptized in the early 70’s at Tabernacle Baptist church in Keller, Texas where Mack was an associate preacher. After 13-year Katie and Mack divorced. In Katie’s early 30’s she found her one true love, Billy Barrett. They met at Billy's brother, Rodger's, gas station. Where Billy worked pumping gas. It was love at first sight. Katie and Billy had a long successful relationship of 38 years and in that time they had Billy Tucker.
Katie was always involved in her children’s activities as they were growing up. She attended numerous girl scout meetings and football games. She was the mom that never missed anything that was important to her kids. She had multiple jobs from selling Avon to working in a café. She loved waiting on people and retired after 20 years at Waffle house because she developed early stages of Alzheimer’s. Katie was highly loved by customers and she was treated like family from her regulars. Katie was a hard-working woman and tough as nails. She didn’t have many hobbies, but she enjoyed the simple life, going to work, coming home, relaxing and sitting outside.
Because of the Alzheimers, Katie was lost for some time, but we find comfort in knowing she is in heaven now speaking, dancing and laughing. Our hearts are still heavy but she is no longer in pain and is with our Lord and Savior in heaven. Katie leaves behind her children, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and countless friends and family that will miss her.
Katie is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Barrett; parents, Maudie and Hayden Booth; sisters, Betty Evens and Jenevia Clowers; and brothers, Robert Booth and Travis Booth.
A graveside will be held at Azleland Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Visitation will be held prior to the service.
