In Loving Memory of Jimmy Schlosser
April 28, 1935 - August 15, 2023
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jimmy Schlosser, a beloved husband, father,
brother, and friend. Jimmy's life was a testament to love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the
simple joys that filled his days.
Born on April 28, 1935, Jimmy's journey was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family,
his endearing friendships, and his passions. He loved vintage cars, blues music, football, and
Western movies. He was an excellent natural born artist and had a short-term gig drawing
political cartoons for the local newspaper. He was a compassionate man who cared about other
human beings. On a family vacation in Galveston, he saved a drowning woman who had been
carried out by the undertow. While working as a pumper in the oil field, he came across an
unconscious man who had been electrocuted. Jimmy administered CPR, and saved his life.
Jimmy's infectious sense of humor lit up every room he entered, making him the heart and soul
of every gathering. He was a great storyteller and kept everyone entertained with funny stories
about his life. He cherished his role as a father and reveled in the joy of sharing stories and
laughter with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Myra Schlosser, whose companionship was his anchor. He
leaves behind his daughters, Deborah Laster and Terri Holcomb, along with his brother, Allen
Schlosser. Cherished memories will live on through his grandchildren and step-grandchildren:
Claire Laster, Celeste Laster, Kylar Holcomb, Corey Mengel, Kayla Mengel, and Jordan Moore.
While Jimmy's journey continues beyond this world, he is reunited with his dear daughter, Sherri
Mengel, as well as his parents, Elmer and Cumi Schlosser. He is also joined by his siblings:
Wanda Speer, Linda Pavlicek, and Glen Schlosser. Their spirits shall forever remain entwined.
Jimmy Schlosser's legacy will endure in the hearts of all those who were privileged to know him.
He leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with love, laughter, and warmth. As we bid
farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember his infectious smile, his endearing stories, and
the love he shared with all.
A memorial service will be held on September 8 at 2:00 PM at Azle Funeral Home.
Rest in peace, Jimmy Schlosser. Your spirit will forever shine bright in our lives.
