In Loving Memory of Jerry Edward King

1943 - 2023

Jerry Edward King, born on March 31, 1943, in Eden, Texas, embarked on his final journey on August 26, 2023, in Weatherford, Texas. He was the beloved son of Charlie and Samantha King. Jerry's legacy shines brightly through his remarkable life as a master electrician, a dedicated sports enthusiast, and a profoundly loving individual.

Jerry's journey began at Petit Texas High School, where he graduated in 1962 after actively participating in football and basketball. In his 20s, he found solace and meaning when he was baptized alongside his sister, Barbara, in Canyon, Texas. He nurtured his faith at Lakeside Baptist Church, embracing its teachings for many years.

An ardent fan of all sports, Jerry's heart beat for the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. His passion for sports mirrored his boundless love for others. He touched countless lives with his unwavering kindness and generosity, extending his love to his family, whom he cherished deeply. A beacon of strength and guidance, Jerry became a cherished father figure to nieces, nephews, and many others.

Known for his selflessness, Jerry's willingness to help others knew no bounds. His skilled hands freely performed electrical work for family members, embodying a spirit of service that set him apart. Even strangers found warmth in his presence. As his journey neared its end, Jerry's concern for the salvation of all he knew and cared for illuminated his compassionate heart.

Jerry is survived by his sister, Barbara Blair, his brothers Larry, Freddie, and Richard King, and an extensive network of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He now joins his parents, as well as his brothers Harold, Clyde, and Travis King, in the realm beyond.
 

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park beginning at 2:00 PM.  All those who were touched by Jerry's kindness and love are invited to join this final farewell and honor the beautiful soul that he was. In our hearts and memories, Jerry's spirit will forever shine, a testament to a life lived in unwavering love and service to others.
