Jerry Jones Obituary

Jerry Jones, our beloved husband, dad, pepaw, son and brother, moved on to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

The service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday January 2, 2021 at the Chapel at Azleland Cemetery.

Jerry was born on October 8, 1963 to Ruth and Buddy Jones in Fort Worth, Texas. Jerry was an Azle Hornet football player from the age of Pee-Wee until graduating, known by his team mates as “No-neck Jones”.   He made “All District Line-backer” his senior year.

His Uncle Shannon got him his first job at Harbison Fischer where he continued to save every dime he earned to build his first home with his dad so he could propose to his high school sweetheart, Penni. For 37 years, Jerry and Penni raised their family in Azle, attending as many Azle High School Football games as they could. He loved watching his son and all his friends play the sport he loved so much. Jerry was also an avid Texas Ranger and Dallas Cowboys fan. Jerry was so proud to have been able to walk his daughter down the aisle and to play with his precious granddaughter. He was already spoiling her with his “M&M’s”.

A few years after Harbison Fischer, Jerry was able to start his career with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department where he wore his uniform with pride. He was just a couple months away from working 19 years with the department. Jerry was a dedicated and loyal employee but most of all had lots of friends throughout the department because of his witty personality.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Jones and his brother, Buddy Lloyd Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Penni Jones; his son, Casey Jones; his daughter, Lacey and husband Joshua Suddeath;  his granddaughter, Annalise Suddeath; his mother, Ruth Jones; his sister, Sue and husband Ray Robertson; niece, several nephews, cousins, and extended family, as well as many good friends.

Jerry will be forever missed but always in our hearts.
