Jamie Eugene Shaw, 38, was taken from this world May 20, 2022, the victim of a ruthless crime in Millsap, Texas. The place he was most comfortable, his hometown. Jamie was born in Mineral Wells, Texas, on February 1, 1984 to his parents, James Shaw Jr and Vicky Smith. He was a rough and tumble child who grew up in Millsap, Texas alongside his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and cousins. He was adventurous and loved sports and the outdoors as a child and an adult. As an adult, Jamie met his Lord and Savior in a program within the TDCJ system. Jamie used his time in the system as part of his testimony of how he found his love for The Lord. He knew the Bible forward and backward. If ever anyone needed to be uplifted or an inspiring scripture, he was there to provide it. He was fun. He was a jokester. Most of all, he was a man just trying to make it in this world, when his life was cut short by someone with no regard for how much Jamie would be missed by his family and friends.
Jamie is survived by his dad and stepmom, James Jr and Theresa Shaw, his mother, Vicky Smith, his siblings James Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Donnie Smith, Shane Shaw, Karen Owen. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Lavangaline Shaw, and his cousin Trey Reddell. Maternal grandparents, Arthur Rapp and Mae Belle Hunt. We know he is with these loving family members now and they are rejoicing in heaven, together.
Quote from Jamie’s social media: “…I didn’t let the devil steal my joy, so just know we are human, and we do fight evil every day, but we have the ability to do what we set our mind on, and praise God that he lives in me…I love you, Jesus Christ.”
