1940 - 2023

James Herschell Holland was born April 13th, 1940, in Sherman, Texas to parents John Henry Holland and Nina Belle Morris, one of their loved nine children. He passed away on February 27, 2023, in Arlington, Texas.

James was a hardworking man and dedicated 30 years of his life to working at General Motors until his retirement. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. Anyone who knew James knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He also loved his fur babies very much. James was a passionate gardener and an avid sports fan.

James Holland was preceded in death by his beloved dogs, Pixie and Max; his parents, John and Nina Holland; his brother, Weldon Holland; his sisters, Anna Bell Clements, Lucile Hogan, Ola Fae Jones, Ileen Cunningham, Imogene Brewer, and Nina Mae Henderson.

James is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Holland; his children, Tammy Beckham & partner Jimmy Igoe, Marty Holland & wife Darlene, Lisa Holland & husband Sam Haynes, Rob Holland & wife Gina, Scott Ferrell & wife Donna, Teri Smith & husband Donald, and Lisa Brennan & husband Matt; grandchildren, Ryan Brewer & wife Vikki, Josh Brewer & wife Tahnee, Rachel Shockey & husband Morgan, Chloe Mammen & husband Dustin, Darbie Holland & partner Matt Byers,  Zack Berry, Jake Berry & wife Georgia, Tory Cochran, Chad Smith, Amanda Ferrell, and Corie Ferrell; his brother, Kenneth Holland; 18 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, starting at 1:00 PM at our Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home chapel.

A funeral service will be held the same day, Monday, March 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at our Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home chapel with internment to follow at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park.
