Galen Lee Hitt, 49, entered God's Eternal Kingdom on April 26, 2022.  He was born on May 21, 1972, in San Antonio, Texas to his father and Brenda Jean McCollum-Fennel.  

Galen was a very talented child, learning to play the violin in Elementary School.  He later went on to attend college at TCC. Galen dedicated 20+ years of his life to working in landscaping, enjoying every minute of it.  His boss, Mark, and his wife, Sharon, held a special place in his heart, but Galen often dreamed about owning his own landscaping business someday.  He enjoyed reading and learning new things from books; he always said he might have to use that knowledge at some point.  On Sundays, you could find him cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.  Galen had a loving heart, especially when it came to his three brothers.  He did his best to make sure they led straight paths in the right direction.  Galen put everyone before himself, and never failed to check in with you on your birthday.  He loved being outdoors, fishing and playing different sports.  Galen was deeply loved by his family.  His bright smile, positive attitude, and golden heart will never be forgotten.

Galen was preceded in passing by his grandfather “Papa,” JD McCollum, and grandmother “Nanny,” Rita McCollum.

He will be deeply and lovingly missed by his mother, Branda Fennel; step-father, Ray Fennel; three brothers, Jeffrey Hitt, Bryan Hitt and wife, Vanessa, and Grady Hitt and wife, Vickey; six nieces; one nephew; one great-niece; aunt, Janice Ray and husband, David; uncle, Wayne McCollum and wife, June; and numerous cousins and friends.
