Eugene Harris Taylor, a devoted patriot, a man of faith, and a lover of simplicity, passed away on October 20, 2023, in Arlington, Texas. He was 73 years old.

Eugene was born on June 4, 1950, and from an early age, he displayed a profound sense of duty and honor. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, dedicating not just one, but two terms to the service of his nation. His unwavering commitment as a Vietnam veteran left an indelible mark on his character and the lives of those he encountered.

Education was another significant aspect of Eugene's life. He earned a master's degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma, showcasing his dedication to understanding the human mind. After his academic pursuits, he went on to work as a crane operator in the civil service, exemplifying his strong work ethic and reliability.

Faith played an integral role in Eugene's life, as he served as a deacon for many years at Glenview Baptist Church. His deep spiritual connection and love for the Lord guided him throughout his life.

Eugene had a simple and unassuming nature, finding joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for motorcycles and pickup trucks, and he was an avid supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners sports teams, proudly wearing their colors on game days.

In his passing, Eugene leaves behind cherished memories, his two brothers and a circle of dear friends who will remember him always. He is survived by his brother, Larry Taylor and his wife Carolyn and his brother, Joe Taylor and his wife Elaine along with close friends, Trisha Simons, Dan Saari, Liz Hawkins, and Gale Hawkins.

A service to honor Eugene's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at 9:30 AM at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. All those who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and pay their respects as we bid farewell to a remarkable man who touched our hearts with his simplicity and steadfast devotion to his nation and faith. Eugene's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
