1930 - 2023

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, Sonny Peeks went to sleep in our Lord's comforting arms in Wetherford, Texas.

Sonny was born on March 13, 1930 to Edwin and Myra Peeks in Camp Wood, Texas.  He served his country proudly in the United States Coastguard.  Sonny had two children, James and Nancy Peeks. He provided for his family by working for Vought Aerospace for many years prior to his retirement at the age of 74.  Sonny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on his farm.  His true passion was ball room dancing, which he received numerous commendations and recognitions.  Sonny enjoyed the simpler things in life such as reading a good book and sitting outside just taking in all of God's beautiful creations.

He has been reunited with his parents, Edwin and Myra Peeks; sister, Yvonne Johnson; and brothers, Walter Wayne and Albert Peeks, in God's Eternal Kingdom.

Sonny will be deeply missed by his children, James Peeks and wife, Kerry, and Nancy Peeks and husband, Bill Hamsing; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.  

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, Texas in "The Valley of Roses" beginning at 1:00 PM with Visitation being held prior at 12:30 PM.

Memorial and donations can be made in Sonny's memory to St. Jude Hospital, Wounded Warriors, and Veterans of War.
