Elizabeth Ann Hamilton

1941-2023

Elizabeth Ann Winfrey-Hamilton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 22, 2023, in Plano, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 12, 1941, in Houston, Texas, to her parents John Calvin Winfrey and Mary Elizabeth Pearson-Winfrey. Elizabeth, known to her friends and family as Liz, led a life filled with love, compassion, and creativity.

Liz is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Hamilton, who stood by her side through the joys and challenges of life. Together, they shared a deep and unwavering love that endured for over four decades. Their love story began in February 1979 when they first met at a birthday party held at Jim's brother's house. Recognizing the spark between them, they embarked on a journey that led them to the altar on December 8, 1979, where they exchanged vows and committed to a lifetime of love and support.

Liz was a dedicated mother to her children, John LaFleur and his wife, Shawn Marie; Debra LaFleur-Trapp and her husband, Steph Trapp; Ricky Hamilton; and Terry Hamilton. She cherished her role as a mother and embraced the joys and challenges that came with it. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, and she took great pride in being a grandmother to six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

One of Liz's passions was painting. She possessed a remarkable talent that allowed her to express herself through art. Her paintings were a reflection of her inner world, capturing the beauty and emotions she experienced.

Her commitment to her community and faith was evident in her involvement with the Hillister Baptist Church, where she served as the Director of the children's nursery for over 15 years.

Animals held a special place in Liz's heart, and she dedicated herself to rescuing and caring for them. Her compassionate nature extended to creatures of all kinds, as she sought to provide a safe haven for those in need. Liz's love for animals exemplified her kind and nurturing spirit, and her furry companions brought her immense joy throughout her life..
