Doris Jean (Linehan) Jernigan

Doris (Linehan) Jernigan, 84, went to her eternal home with Jesus Christ August 27, 2019. Doris grew up in Diamond Hill and Azle, Texas. 

Doris, at the age of 19, married Edward (Frank) Linehan and raised 3 children. Doris and Frank became Christians and served in the Music Ministry at several local churches as needed.  Doris and Frank were part of the Spillway Volunteer Fire Department along with other activities as the children grew.

After Frank passed away, Doris married Gordon Eugene Jernigan.  She and Gene continued to live for and spread the love of Jesus throughout their community at Castle Hills Baptist Church, serving others through the Mission House Ministry. Her Joy was Jesus.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, Gordon Eugene Jernigan; Children, Donna, Jan, Curtis and their families; her brother, Glen; her sister, Virginia their families; her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 Preceding Doris in death was her first husband, Edward Franklin Linehan; her father, Joseph M Garrett; her mother, Esther Cobb Garrett Polk; her stepdad, A.B. Polk; her brothers, Joseph, Tommy, George, and Gary; her sisters, Alice, Margaret, Rose, and Judy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mission House at Castle Hills Baptist Church.

A Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Castle Hills on 08/30/2019 at 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Funeral Service at Lakeside Baptist Church on 08/31/2019 at 10:00 am
