Dolores West Obituary

Dolores McReary West (Dado), 78,  passed away on June 22, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Azle and Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:30 pm.  Following, a graveside service will commence at 3:30 pm at Azleland Cemetery.

Dolores was born on June 28, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Lee Dolphus and Lena Mae White McReary.  She had three children, Cheryl, Janice, and Teresa. Dolores wanted the best life for her children, so as a divorced mother she put herself through college earning a degree in Nursing which led her to be a Registered Nurse.  She began her career at the VA Hospital in Big Spring, Texas before moving to Fort Worth to work for Dr. Lynn Perkins where she stayed for ten years.  After, Dolores became the Director of Nurses for several facilities.  She accepted her favorite position which allowed her to travel as a Regional Nurse Consultant.  This led Dolores to have friends from all around.  When she welcomed her first grandson, Michael, she took on the roll as “Dado.” Dolores loved spending time with her family, and taking them on road trips, especially to Colorado.  She had a love for music and enjoyed singing and playing the piano.  Dado spent many happy years at the ballpark as a dedicated baseball scorekeeper for the Lake Worth Youth Association.  She touched many lives and was loved by so many.  Dado will truly be missed.

Dolores West is preceded in death by her parents L.D. and Lena Mae McReary; her brother, Lee “Mac” McReary; and a son, William Lewis West, Jr. who passed at birth.

Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Handy, Janice Clark (Steve), and Teresa Pinson (Mike); grandchildren, Michael Pinson, Brittany Pinson, Justin Pinson (Michelle), Jessica Whisman (Matt), Harrison Handy (Katy), Will Clark, Hayden Clark (Chloe), and Shawn Russell (Jen); great-grandchildren Rilee, Taylor and Cason Pinson, Natalie, Emma and Lillian Daulton, Anson Whisman, Ellie and Liam Handy and Cameron Russell; and a host of loving friends.
