1950 - 2019
Diana M. Rhodes passed away peacefully, December 20, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 69.
Diana was born on January 4, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to Josefa M. Martinez and Reynaldo S. Martinez. She graduated from Hooks High School and later obtained her associate degree. She retired from Huguley Hospital. She married Larry B. Rhodes on June 28, 1974. Larry was the love of her life and together they shared many passions; the love of travel, the sound of good music, the beach and their family.
In Diana's early years, she spent every summer in Eagle Pass with her family. There on a small hill she collected rocks and Native American artifacts. She was an extreme tomboy, playing all sports and breaking through all obstacles in her way. She had an adventurous spirit that she would pass on to and share with her daughters, Monica and Alicia, nieces and nephews and eventually her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Diana never met a stranger and as a result had countless friends, always choosing to see the good in people.
Diana is survived by her husband, Larry B. Rhodes of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters Monica D. Nash (husband Marvin Nash of Hurst, Texas) and Alicia Rhodes (fiance James Baty Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas); grandchildren Tamarra Grimes, Aj’Sha Hodge, Aretha Nash, Keyana Nash and Marvin Nash Jr.; great-grandchildren Kamara Knuckles and Navihl Wilson; and her siblings, Sylvia M.
