Constance Joy (Rutledge) Moorefield

Constance “Joy” Moorefield, 63, of Azle, Texas, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

Joy was born to Doris Henderson and Charles Rutledge on February 14, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was raised in Springtown and graduated from Springtown High School. Joy was an encouraging, loving mother to Jill and Jessica, her two beloved daughters she shared with her first love, Joseph “Joe” Moorefield. Years after Joe’s passing, Joy was joined by the hands of God with their longtime friend, Keith Hensley, in marriage. Joy and Keith loved serving in several capacities at their church and community, enjoyed dancing like no one was watching, and spent as much time as possible with family and friends. Although life took Joy and Keith to Mississippi to care for her mother, Doris, they found their way back to their original home of Texas before she was called to her ultimate home of Heaven. Her name, Joy, exemplified her as a person. She will be lovingly remembered for her vibrant energy, infectious laugh, constant smile, thoughtful gestures, unwavering Christian faith, and the boundless love she had for her family. 

Joy is preceded in death by her father, Charles Rutledge; first husband, Joseph Moorefield Jr.; second husband, Charles Arnall, and brother-in-law, David Drew.

Joy is survived by her loving husband, Keith Hensley; son, Travis Arnall and wife; daughter, Jill Andrews and husband, Paul; daughter, Jessica Young and husband, Sean; grandchildren, Shelby, Kaytlyn, Joseph, James, and Emilia; mother, Doris Henderson; siblings, Danny Rutledge and wife, Mary; Melody Drew; sister-in-law, Karen Rutledge and multiple, nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

SERVICE: Family and friends will gather for the viewing on Monday, December 20, from 5:00-8:00pm at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel: 850 N Cardinal Rd, Azle, TX, 76020.

Joy’s Celebration of Life, officiated by Dave Bennett, will be held Tuesday, December 21, at 10:00am at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
