Brenda Gail Matheny

1957-2021

Brenda Gail Matheny was brought into this world on August 10, 1957 by her parents Charles Ostander and Wanda Holland in Vallejo, California.  She left this world on June 29, 2021 at UT Southwestern Hospital.  

Brenda met and fell in love with the love of her life, David Deen Matheny.  Brenda and David would marry on March 7, 1981 in Mesa, Colorado and together they shared forty years of marriage and five beautiful children. 

Brenda was the type of person who enjoyed taking care of people.  She used those skills as a nurse at Harris Hospital for ten years and was passionate about taking care of her family, especially, her kids and grandkids.  They were the center and core of her world.  She loved hard and would do anything for anyone without question. Brenda loved crafting, she was known to be someone that could do a little of everything.  Never to be one that would sit idle, she was always doing some type of project.  Without a doubt, this world has lost a beautiful soul and she will be missed dearly.

Brenda has left this world to return to her Lord and Savior in The Kingdom of Heaven and is now re-united with her parents and her beloved son, Jason Deen Matheny along with all her family that passed on before her.

Brenda is survived by her husband, David Deen Matheny of Lake Worth, TX; her daughter, Kimberly Cedano and husband, Jose of Lake Worth, TX; her daughter, Tanya Souther and husband, Samuel of Saginaw, TX; her daughter, Christine Matheny of Lake Worth, TX; and her son, Jeremy Matheny and wife, Tiffany of Burleson, TX.  Brenda leaves behind twenty-one grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

While the family is greatly saddened by the loss of this great lady, they wish that everyone that knew and loved Brenda come celebrate her life (a life well lived) on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Azle Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM.  There is also an evening Visitation scheduled the night before the service on July, 5, 2021 beginning at 5 PM
