In Loving Memory of Ben Thomas Bell

Ben Thomas Bell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 3, 2023, at his home in Azle, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, to his parents, Jack S. Bell and Alice M. Conley-Bell. Ben's journey through life was marked by his dedication to family, his multifaceted career in the construction industry, and his unwavering faith.

Ben's early years were spent in Fort Worth, where he developed a passion for construction that would shape his professional life. He was a man of remarkable talents and versatility, wearing many hats in the construction industry. For most of his career, Ben served as a superintendent, overseeing countless projects with dedication and skill.

However, what truly set Ben apart was his unwavering commitment to his family. He made the heartfelt decision to leave his construction career behind, opting to work for the Azle Independent School District, all in the pursuit of being close to his children and beloved wife. On June 16, 1973, Ben married his high school sweetheart, Donna Sue Luna, in Poolville, Texas. Their love story spanned five decades, marked by unwavering devotion and shared joys.

Ben was a devoted Christian, finding solace and community at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fort Worth, where he was baptized. He had a love for fishing and passionately cheered for the Dallas Cowboys. Beyond that, he was a coach, making a lasting impact on many young lives through his involvement in coaching his daughters in softball and supporting his daughter's colorguard performances.

A true family man, Ben cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He often showcased his culinary talents by cooking outdoors and smoking meats on the grill he built in his backyard. Ben was their biggest cheerleader, attending all of his children and grandchildren's games and sports events. His enduring love and support made him the best husband and father anyone could ask for.

Ben Thomas Bell is survived by his loving wife, Donna Bell; his daughter, Andrea DeLack, and her husband, Earl; his daughter, Becky Bell; his daughter, Allison Price, and her husband, Colby; his grandson, Carter Cherry; his granddaughters, Hannah DeLack and Rebecca DeLack; his grandson, Owen DeLack; and his brothers, Don Bell and Jerry Bell.

Ben was preceded in death by both his parents, Jack S. Bell and Alice M. Conley-Bell, and three brothers, Bert, Jack F. Bell, and Jimmy Phipps.
