William T. Green, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 18, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Jester Lee Green and Lois Green, William was one of twelve children in a large and loving family. He was preceded in death by his siblings Phillip, Darrell, Alton, and Jeanette, and is survived by his loving sisters, Lavonne, Virginia, Margaret, Karen, Sharon, Madie and his loving brother Arthur Green of Gainesville, Texas.
William is survived by his devoted wife, Carole Green of Fort Worth; his son, Chad Green of Springtown, Texas; his daughter, Angela Green Ogle of Arlington, Texas; his stepson Randle Holt of Burleson, Texas; and many cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Music was William’s lifelong passion. A gifted self-taught musician, he played the piano with deep feeling—inspired by the legendary style of Floyd Cramer—and mastered string instruments, especially the guitar, where he drew great inspiration from Chet Atkins. For years, he generously shared his talent, bringing joy and comfort to elderly residents in his in-laws nursing homes through the hymns and familiar songs they loved. His gentle spirit and beautiful music touched countless hearts.
A faithful Pentecostal Christian, William served God with all his heart and lived his faith every day. After two debilitating open-heart surgeries left him mostly confined to home, William found joy and comfort in the preaching and singing ministry of Jimmy Swaggart. In his leisure time, he enjoyed classic Westerns—a quiet pleasure that always brought him contentment.
William will be profoundly missed by his family, his church family, and all who were blessed to know him and hear his music.
Rest in peace, William. Heaven’s choir gained a gifted musician and a faithful soul today. We look forward to the blessed hope of meeting you again in Heaven.
