Tim Waits, age 63, passed away on January 11, 2026 at his home after a nine year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was a loving husband, devoted father, wonderful friend, and a man who cared deeply about those around him.
Tim was born on January 18, 1962, in Fort Worth, TX to Donald Waits and Scharleen Becker.
Tim married Debra Dollar on June 2, 1984. They were married for 41 years. Tim most loved being a father to their son Jered, and he enjoyed their many weekends fishing and camping. He had a knack for picking out the best camping spot at the many campsites they spent their weekends at. He is also remembered by his family for their trips to the Jeep trails of Ouray, Colorado. Tim was also an avid gun enthusiast, and was an expert marksman.
He had a very strong work ethic, spending his 35 year career at Lockheed Martin, where he finished his career as a Senior Facilities Engineer. Additionally, he was a proud reserve officer for the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department, where he was instrumental in founding the bicycle unit for reserve officers. He was a reserve officer for 25 years, working his way up to the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed spending time with Debra and Jered while working as an employee of Premier Gun Shows for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife Debra Waits, his son Jered (Emily) Waits, grandson Luke Waits, sister Pamela Bevin, and many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Scharleen Becker Massey and his father Donald Waits.
Visitation will be held at Azleland Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 1 pm to 1:45 pm.
Graveside service for Tim Waits will be held on Thursday, January 15 at 2 pm at Azleland Cemetery and Funeral Home.
