Stephen Lynn Simmons, 71, of Azle passed away on July 24, 2020.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Azle and Lake Worth Funeral Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM.  A graveside service is to follow at Azleland Cemetery and Memorial Park at 10:00 AM.

Stephen was born on February 13, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Clifford and Peggy Parker Simmons.  In 1975, he married Barbara Richardson and together they raised four children.  He loved being on the water whether he was fishing, boating, or taking his family on their yearly vacation to the ocean.  Stephen enjoyed hunting with his boys and tending to his livestock on his land.  He had a small collection of guitars and found pleasure in playing music with his family and friends.  For the last 20 years, Stephen was an extremely devoted husband, doing everything necessary to take care of and provide for his wife after her health declined.  Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Stephen reunited with his parents, Clifford and Peggy; son, Stephen Simmons; and daughter, Tracy McKenzie, in heaven.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara; sons, Thomas Simmons (Stephanie) and Kelly Simmons (Susan); brothers, Wayne and Randy; sister, Teresa; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.
