Shirley Diana Weatherley-Barrington
1949-2021
Shirley Pendley Weatherley-Barrington was born on January 4, 1949 in Lubbock, Texas to her parents Mary Izetta Dabney and Lee Pendley. Shirley grew up in the Pendley household with her five siblings; Mary Lee, Maggie Lou, Gerald, Leon and Corkie in a loving and nurturing home. Shirley left this world on August 7, 2021 to begin her new life and journey with her loving Savior and Lord in the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven.
Shirley was a very special and talented lady. In her professional life, she mastered many skills that were needed in order to be a successful business owner and entrepreneur. She owned several successful restaurants along her journey. But being smart and creative was only one aspect of her amazing life. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother, who was always there for her family and friends. Shirley loved the Lord. She never forgot her prayers and blessings and prayed daily for God's Grace and for her families health and welfare. Shirley loved to sing all kinds of music. She loved Elvis Presley and sang mostly older blues and country music and had a large music collection. Shirley was always joyful when she sang, She had a green thumb and loved to tend to her garden and flowers. Family was everything to Shirley. She did whatever was necessary to keep the family together and was always making plans for the future with them. She loved to sew and she made lasting memories for her family by making sure the school photos represented her fine talents. Shirley's laughter was contagious. She always had a great attitude and always looked at the positives that God provides us.
Shirley married Jimmy Barrington and together they raised two beautiful sons. Shirley is survived by her sons, Russell Barrington and his wife, Renisa and Jamie Barrington and his wife Wendy. Shirley leaves behind her sister, Mary Lee along with her most prized and loved grandchildren; Jackie Barrington, Justin Nabors, Cole Nabors, Tyler Nabors, Christopher Barrington, Mitchell Edmunds, Avery Barrington, and Gabriel Barrington along with sixteen great grandchildren.
While the family is greatly saddened by the loss of Shirley, they wish for everyone that knew and loved Shirley to celebrate her life, a life very well lived, and to rejoice the reunion with the family members that passed before her in her new home in The Kingdom of Heaven..
