In Loving Memory of Shirley Dean Barnum

1953 - 2023

Shirley Dean Barnum, born on January 26, 1953, in Brownwood, TX, to J.D. and Mary Ellen Barnum, peacefully passed away on November 26, 2023. Shirley's life was a testament to love, joy, and cherished moments.
A devoted mother, Shirley's adoration for her children was immeasurable, defining her life's greatest joy. She found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the serenity of fishing and camping, where nature provided a tranquil escape.  Her love for country dancing echoed her vibrant spirit, and she thrived in the company of family and friends. Shirley's enthusiasm for the holidays was infectious, her home transformed into a festive wonderland, creating enduring memories with all who gathered around her.
Shirley Dean Barnum leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Though she may no longer be present, her spirit and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

She has been reunited with her son, James Allen Jenkins; parents, J.D. and Mary Ellen Barnum; brother, Danny Wayne Barnum; and her two sisters, Gearldine Barnum and Mary Elizabeth Cato.

Shirley will be deeply and lovingly missed by her children, Travis Allen Jenkins and Angela Fay Schubert; five sisters, Loretta Sue Bruce, Brenda Ann Clay, Rosa Lee Ferguson, Deborah Jane Orman, and Judy Lorraine Harvell; grandchildren, Dustan Wayne Schubert, Lacci Lashell Martinez, Braylon Lee Jenkins, and Raelyn Fae Jenkins; two great-grandchildren, Shaw Alexander Martinez and Bailey Reign Martinez; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM with a Service to follow at 2:00 PM.  Interment will be rendered at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
