Obituary

Selia Fabela Holloway

1959 - 2021

Selia was born on January 8, 1959 to her parents, Domingo and Senaida Fabela.  Selia grew up in a loving family with her three brothers, Jose Luis Fabela, Javier Fabela and Domingo Junior Fabela in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Selia met David Glenn Holloway in Odessa, Texas in the late 1970's through mutual friends.  They dated a few months and on June 30, 1980, she married David and he adopted Selia's five year old daughter, Laura shortly after.  Together they became the proud parents to five beautiful children; Laura Farley, Jennifer Holloway, Sarah Henderson, Seth Holloway and Isabelle Holloway. They moved to several different cities before settling down in Azle,Texas.  Selia earned her Bachelors Degree in Human Resources from the University of North Texas in Denton. Selia was a very loving wife, mother, and sister.  she was a proud Latina and a devout Catholic.  She made tamales every Christmas and even had a knack for making biscochos (Mexican sugar cookies) just like her mom used to make. Selia was given every parents greatest gift by having eleven grandchildren along with one great grandchild on the way. The grandkids always call her "Mimi" and because of her love of plants, she became lovingly known as "Plant Mimi".  The nickname stuck so well, that she even went by that moniker on social media.

Selia was an incredibly loving and giving person.  She would welcome anyone and everyone into her home.  It didn't matter...people, animals....no one or thing was ever turned away that was in need of help.  Selia was very strong in her beliefs.  She knew right from wrong and had a strong love for the Lord.  She might seem a little stubborn to some, but it was always shown with Grace and Love.  She was always praying for the ones that she loved and those that came across her doorsteps.  One of the destinations that Selia fell in love with was Korea.  She loved everything Korean and dreamed of going there in person one day.  We rejoice, as we are sure that her spirit soars above all the far off places on our beautiful planet and more importantly the views that she now enjoys from her new home in the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven cannot be compared.

While the family is greatly saddened by the loss of this great and wonderful person they ask that you come celebrate with them the life of Selia, a life very well lived.
