Obituary

Sandra Jean Turgeon

1947 - 2023

Sandra Turgeon, 76, a devoted wife, mother, granny and great granny passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Sandy was born the oldest of 9 children, in Leominster, Massachusetts on January 26, 1947, to her parents, Arthur and Laura Richard.

Her family was her sole focus, and she worried over and took care of them until the end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs. She was not one to ask for help, so when she did, we knew it was important. She was kind, generous and compassionate. She loved her entire family and worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, and always kept on loving them.

Sandy loved working with her hands, she loved gardening, anything plants, and creating masterpieces through sewing, knitting, and embroidering.  She opened her first t-shirt/embroidery shop at the Grapevine Mills Mall and she continued in apparel retail for almost 30 years. She also shared her home to some loving pets, she was known to have cats, birds, but most of all her favorite were long-haired chihuahuas, owning several through the years. She also loved to travel and being at the beach the most.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Laura Richard; her first and final love, David Turgeon; her spouses, Robert Clark & Joe Stamps in between; and her siblings, Norma Richard & David Christian.

She is survived by her three successful children, son, Don & his wife, Dawn Turgeon of Grapevine; daughter, Pamela & her husband, Shaun Carrick of Fort Worth; her daughter, Karin & her husband, Tony McAfee of Azle, Texas; her nine grandchildren, Bailie Land, Sydney Turgeon, Jared Turgeon, Jessie Whitfield, Tyler Carrick, Abigail Carrick, Holly McAfee, Heather McAfee, and Hayden McAfee; her pride, 11 great grandchildren; her brothers, Arthur Richard, Warren Richard & his wife Sue, Walter Richard & his wife Rose, John Richard; sisters, Lori Kett and Marilyn Christian and a host of family and friends.

Sandy will be desperately missed by all those that she's left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

On Friday, March 24th at 2:00 pm, a memorial service for her family and friends will be held at the Roberts-Martinez Funeral Home chapel.
