In Loving Memory of Ryan Michael Sebastian Cantu

December 30, 1990 – October 5, 2026

With heavy hearts and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Ryan Michael Sebastian Cantu, who was born on December 30, 1990, in Mesquite, Texas, and passed away on October 5, 2026, in Boyd, Texas.

Ryan was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose life was marked by a creative spirit, a hardworking heart, and a deep appreciation for the simple, beautiful things in life. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he leaves behind will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

From a young age, Ryan understood the value of hard work and the pride that comes from creating something with your own hands. At just 16 years old, he began working alongside his dad and uncle as a pipe fitter, dedicating 15 years to his trade. Through his work, he shared not only his time and talents but also a meaningful bond with the family members who stood beside him.

Ryan had a wonderfully creative side and a vivid imagination. He enjoyed woodworking, crafting swords, drawing, and getting lost in the pages of fantasy books. He found joy in bringing ideas to life, whether through the things he built with his hands or the worlds he explored through stories. His interests reflected a mind that was always imagining, creating, and discovering.

Beyond his many talents, Ryan had a special love for animals and the outdoors. He enjoyed being outside, taking walks, and embracing the beauty of nature. There was something particularly special about his love for the rain. While others might hurry indoors, Ryan found comfort and enjoyment in being outside beneath the falling drops, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the world. Those simple moments were a part of what made him uniquely Ryan.

Ryan will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Elizabeth and Mark Cantu; his brothers, Brandon and Dylan Cantu; and his numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins along with all those whose lives he touched throughout his journey. His family will forever hold close the memories they shared with him, the moments that brought them together, and the little things that made him who he was.

Although saying goodbye is heartbreaking, Ryan's story does not end with his passing. He lives on in the love of his family, in the things he created with his hands, in the memories of time spent together, and in the quiet moments when the rain falls and the world seems to slow down. His life has left an imprint that cannot be erased, and the love he gave will remain a part of those who carry him in their hearts.

Rest peacefully, Ryan. May you find endless open skies, peaceful walks, gentle rain, and all the wonder of the worlds you loved to imagine. May your hands always have something beautiful to create, and may you know just how deeply you were loved.

You will be loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered always.
