It is with deep sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Ruby LaVerle White, who passed away on May 10, 2026 at the age of 84 years old in Fort Worth, TX.
Born on April 5th, 1942 in Glen Rose, LaVerle was the beloved daughter of Willie and Mildred Green. She married James White in 1991 becoming the cornerstone of the blended family they created. Throughout her life, LaVerle was known for her kindness, strength, love of family, cooking, generosity, faith and warmth that made such a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
LaVerle was a devout Christian, wife, and mother. She found great joy tending to her garden and cooking delish meals for her family. She had a remarkable way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
Professionally, LaVerle retired from the Euless Police Department where she worked in their records department. Once retried she traveled with her husband to work in Amarillo and in Taiwan before returning back home to Azle, TX. She then enjoyed being with her kids, grandkids, and her great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, James “Jim” White; her son, Stephen York and wife, Allyson York; James White, Jr and wife, Heidi White; Kelly Simpkins-Shearer and husband Steve Shearer; and Linda White. Grandchildren Peyton York, Mallory White, Tristan White, Dakota White, Isabella Thirion, Ariana Thirion, Michaela Thirion, Jonathan Bagley, Joseph Simpkins, Jacob Simpkins, Britany Martinez, Virgil Anthony, Zach Heath, and Jason and Wendy Spradley. She also had 4 great grandchildren, along with countless other family, friends and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by LaVerle.
LaVerle was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Mildred Green, brother Howard Green, and sister Jackie Green.
A Celebration of life to be held on May 19th at 2pm with viewing open to the public at 1pm at First Baptist Church Lakeside located at 8801 Jacksborro Highway, Fort Worth, TX, 76135. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life beautifully lived.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are comforted by the memories, love, and legacy LaVerle leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
