In Loving Memory of Rickey Allen Morse
1956 - 2025
With hearts heavy yet filled with gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with him, we announce the passing of Rickey Allen Morse, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Rickey passed away peacefully at his home in Brock, Texas, on March 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, family, and the comforting presence of the life he built.
Born on November 11, 1956, in California, Rickey was the cherished son of Earl P. Morse and Elizabeth Arlene Key-Morse. Raised in a home filled with love, laughter, and the unshakable values of faith and hard work, he learned early on the importance of integrity, resilience, and devotion to family. At the age of 16, he, along with his parents and beloved brother Randy Morse, embarked on a new chapter, settling in Brock, Texas. The family, deeply rooted in the Baptist faith, continued their legacy of cattle ranching, and Rickey embraced the values of honesty, perseverance, and humility that would define the man he became.
Rickey was baptized at Dennis Baptist Church in Brock, where his faith became the guiding force of his life. His belief in God shaped his morals, his decisions, and the way he treated those around him. He lived with quiet strength, a heart full of kindness, and a spirit that sought peace in all things.
In 2004, fate smiled upon Rickey when he met the love of his life, Robyn. From the moment their paths intertwined, they were inseparable. Their love, built on laughter, companionship, and unwavering devotion, blossomed into a beautiful journey. On August 8, 2008, they pledged their lives to one another in marriage, a union filled with deep affection and shared adventures. Rickey not only became a devoted husband to Robyn but also a loving father figure to her children, embracing them with warmth, guidance, and an open heart.
A man of remarkable dedication and perseverance, Rickey was an entrepreneur at heart. He owned and operated his own trucking company, beginning his career hauling cattle before transitioning to long-haul trucking. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his ability to navigate life's roads—both literal and figurative—was a testament to his strength. Later, he worked in the oil fields of South Texas, applying the same diligence that had carried him through every chapter of his career. Before retiring, he completed his professional journey at Phillips Water Well Service in Weatherford, Texas.
Beyond his hardworking nature, Rickey had a soft and gentle soul. He was a quiet, intelligent man, one who preferred peace over conflict and found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was a devoted grandfather, always willing to go above and beyond for the little ones who adored him. Whether it was a word of encouragement, a small act of kindness, or a selfless gesture, his love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.
Rickey also had a deep affection for his two beloved Chihuahuas, Rosie and Bitsy, who never left his side. He and Robyn shared a passion for traveling, exploring casinos, and seeking out adventure together. They loved the thrill of Las Vegas, the serenity of nature, and the joy of simply being in each other's company. Their favorite escapes were the cabins in Fredericksburg and the tranquil shores of Possum Kingdom Lake, where Cabin No. 8 became their personal sanctuary. There, they would grill, relax, and revel in the warmth of family, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
A true movie aficionado, Rickey had an uncanny ability to quote lines from nearly any film. He was especially passionate about Westerns, with John Wayne standing as his favorite cinematic icon. A Coors Light in hand, he would immerse himself in his favorite films, savoring the nostalgia and timeless lessons of honor, loyalty, and courage they portrayed.
Above all else, Rickey's greatest love was his family. He was a steadfast husband, a devoted father, a doting grandfather, and a loyal friend. His wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence was one of gentle leadership, unwavering support, and an unspoken yet profound love.
Rickey is survived by his loving wife, Robyn Morse, his children: Ryan Morse and his wife Daria; Rachelle Morse; Lauren Tipton and her husband Tracy; and Cory Reed and his wife Jaclyn. He leaves behind a legacy of ten grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Arlene Morse, and his brother, Randy Morse, who no doubt welcomed him into eternity with open arms.
A graveside visitation and service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Azleland Cemetery in Azle, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a service at 10:00 AM, where we will gather to honor, celebrate, and remember the extraordinary man Rickey was.
