Richard Neil Pyle, 85, of Watauga, Texas, passed away on July 26, 2024. Born on July 30, 1938, in Pleasant Plains, Illinois, he was the beloved son of William Barry and Dora Lee Pyle. Richard married the love of his life, Darlene Joyce Emmons, on April 4, 1955, in Missouri. Together, they shared a beautiful 67 years of marriage until her passing in March 2022.
A devoted follower of the Lord, Richard served faithfully in his church for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his family. Richard was a master carpenter, with a natural talent for building and fixing anything. His skills and craftsmanship were admired by all who knew him.
Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. Over his lifetime, he worked as a coal miner and in the medical supply industry, dedicating himself to each profession with diligence and integrity. In his free time, Richard enjoyed watching old Western movies and was a passionate baseball fan.
Richard's gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and craftsmanship that will continue to inspire his loved ones.
He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Darlene; his parents; two brothers; and five sisters.
Richard will be deeply and lovingly missed by his two daughters, Debbie Nicewonger and husband, Lee, and Sherry Retcofsky and husband, Paul; five grandchildren, Brandon Nicewonger and wife, Lauren, Natalie Weaver and husband, Clint, Brent Nicewonger and wife, Stacy, Ryan Retcofsky, and Linsey Nazir and husband, Shahzad; seven great-grandchildren, Nolan and Colton Weaver, Braden Nicewonger, Rory, Remy, and Emmy Nicewonger, and Marcel Nazir; sister, Edith Stinson; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Crocks and Margie Etter and husband, John; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, beginning at 9:30 AM with a Graveside Service beginning at 10:00 AM at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park.
